Mandibular nerve includes many different types of nerves but the most concerned are the inferior alveolar nerve and lingual nerve. Both of them are in the lower jaw.

Mandibular nerve may injury subsequent to minor dental surgery such as extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth and dental implant but the possibility of getting an injury is rare which is about 1-2%.
