People whose mandibular nerve is injured commonly suffer from circumoral paresthesia. For instance, the right inferior alveolar nerve injury causing paresthesia of the right lower lip, the left lingual nerve injury causing paresthesia of the left side of the tongue, and so forth. In severe cases, the patient may suffer from drooling. In general, however, mandibular nerve injury does not decrease the mobility of the lip and tongue.
